Village Country Inn Property Page
PROPERTY HIGHLIGHTS
*Building on the National Register of Historic Places |
This village has been known as a resort destination for over 100 years. Popular with the elite of bygone days including the Lincolns (whose estate "Hildene" is a now a public museum), Manchester today continues the tradition of being a popular destination point for travelers. The site of the world famous Orvis Company (specializing in the sport of fly fishing) and the Equinox Hotel, Inns, fine dining and shopping, Manchester is a haven for tourists. To insure the quality of the small town charm that makes up Manchester, the amount of development that can happen is very limited. This has significantly elevated the barriers to entry, making any in-place property (such as the Village Country Inn) a far more valuable investment. Because of its status of a four season resort town, Manchester's economy is skewed towards hospitality and food service. Almost fifty percent of the town's employment establishments are based on retail trade: accommodation and food services; and real estate and rental leasing. Nestled at the foot of 3,816-foot Mount Equinox South on Route 7A you will find Manchester Village with its tranquil old-world atmosphere and Manchester Center a shopper's paradise that is completely different from the village with its signs, sights and many shops.
